There was a silence for a long time. The body lay in shambles and soon dissolved into whatever matter was left of the fetch. The fetch had taken so long ti kill. She watched as the face of her friend that she left in Arcadia faded into nothing. The fetch knew why she came here, and it'd been a long day. Annette breathed hard and long trying to catch up her breath. The blood on her sword dripped she turned and walked out of the house as her winter mantle boosted up and the parents of the real lost rushed into the house after getting a worried text from the fetch. The father wasn't her real father, it seemed her friend's mother moved on. They ran past Annette who was walking on the sidewalk at this point and she went to the river nearby and washed the blood off her sword. Once she came back to the person she spoke to earlier she handed him the three hairs of the dead fetch she plucked. She became a part of the Duchy for the first time. There wasn't any pride or much of anything else to be had. She was thankful for the access she now had. The snow that fell in her heat started to freeze. Her mantle was at it's highest and she was about to hear some very interesting things. There was only one thing that bothered her, she knew she could love, but she couldn't do so publicly. It broke her heart that she couldn't confess to him, he had to make the first move. She met with him frequently he tried to cheer her up and accompany her on about every mission for fetches they had. She had a hard time expressing the emotions, but they were still there. He was her escape from loneliness and kept her mind off of the pain that built up inside of her from the durance and memories from home. Her heart froze more and more the more she stayed around him while not saying anything. Finally, the fateful day came where she would need to leave to begin her new journey. She walked with him for a last time before he turned to say something to her, "You know Annette, you're lucky. Not even the most desperate fairest can go after you, and it's great because it's something some Winter Courtiers can only hope to achieve." Annette held in her pain and anguish and nodded, with a blank look, "You're right." The little snow that was left froze and as the last snowflake of hope came down a couple of spring courtiers came by that you couldn't help but noticed and she followed his gaze and the longing look behind is eyes. She then turned and walked away. That last snowflake froze with the rest of him building up the wall she'd been putting up. The tears never came her face remained blank and her heart forever frozen and lonely inside. The pain that she felt that day remains in her still today. She is reminded of it because she's so overlooked and it secretly hurts her. The metal veins that run through her body become more and more frozen the ice building up inside everywhere.
